PTK Hot Parts

Has PTK stopped making the Gen 1 version of the hot parts? I see the Gen 2 is $1900 bucks for an uncoated version which seems a bit much IMO.

Still seems a bit over priced. I could see if they were made of stainless or if they were atleast coated, but $1900 is more than I paid for my 4340 rotating assembly.

You're going to make a lot more power with the turbo than with a stroker.

It's a business and IMO PTK it's the best option out there for the LT1 unless you want to do a custom kit....then again, if you do a custom kit you can deal with the fitment issues and fabrication time which PTK has already invested who knows how many man hours into.

Re: PTK Hot Parts

Sure, send it to me. ChrisGainey@bellsouth.net I'm not really worried about the intercooler, I have a nice big front mount I need to install already, and I can make most of the associated tubing. I just don't want to make another set of headers. The ones I made for my truck were about as much fun as I can handle.

I agree I'll make more power with a turbo than with a stroker kit. I'm just saying, I payed less than that for my entire S trim setup. I'm kinda weighing options for the 383 that's being built right now. Looks like I'll be sticking with the S trim or going to a T trim. I wanted to do the turbo, but building the twin setup for my S10 is about to kill me, and it didn't cost me $1900 bucks to build my own headers either.

It's not that I'm being cheap or anything, but I've seen cars posted on here with the Gen 1 kit that made 800+ rwhp. I'd be more than satisfied with those numbers. I just don't see how increasing pipe size is worth an extra $500 bucks.

Re: PTK Hot Parts

well.. i talked to jose and that 355 with the t76 made 828rwhp on 18psi and at 23psi it made 987rwhp...trust me..its worth the extra couple of thousand for that much power..not to mention it did it on stock heads!

Re: PTK Hot Parts

That's what I'm saying, all that was done on a Gen 1 kit with the smaller tubing. I really don't see why the cost of the kit went up $500 bucks.

Re: PTK Hot Parts

The largest issue is that they moved everything as well. Personally I think from a performance/fit standpoint the 2nd is superior - but it has several very strong advantages aside from the 1st gen which I have.

1)Larger Primaries
2)Larger Crossover
3)Crossover pipe is forward of k-member, thusly oil pan is not limited (try getting your average deep pan on there with the crossover where the stock y-pipe goes)
4)1st gen doesnt require a bmr k-member, but it makes a huge difference. The 2nd gen ptk is more stock friendly.

IMHO I'm plenty happy with my 1st gen PTK parts.
