was bored and my friend mentioned he had one...so we thought...lets see what the camaro could do...

these times are not what you would call "fast" but for what this car has done to it it has impressed me some..

car was ran with full interior and in street trim...it weighs about 3400-3900lbs with both of us in it

only mods i know of done to the car before i bought it were a cam that is slightly bigger than stock, holley carb, edelbrock performer intake, headers and a shift kit when the trans was rebuilt

things holding the car back were the crap 215/65/r15 cooper tires which tend to wanna spin real easily, stock exhaust....other problem was the weight...the car was ran on a 1/2 tank of gas also.....the biggest facter also was the stock converter only being a good 1600-1800 stall...not the best

best 0-60 was 6.1 seconds and that had some wheelspin

14.77@99.5mph - manually shifted
14.82@98.5mph - left in overdrive
14.84@100.2mph - manually shifted
14.64@99.7mph - manually shifted

these times were done in 30* weather and the car still has the stock suspension and 21 yr old rubber bushings in it ....things the car will get soon are bfg drag radials on my draglite rims that will knock off atleast 80 lbs off the car, the spare tire, fiberglass cowl hood, lower control arms, subframe connectors and rear seat will be removed...fresh tune and better wires than the crappy ones on it...plus my digital 6 ignition system

the mph is almost there....my figure is the car has about 200-230hp at the rear wheels

G-Tech are usually plus or minus 3 to 4 tenths. There's nothing can beat a real timeslip from a 1/4 mile track!

track is closed until april and last time i ran a different car on the g-tech the e.t was right and it was a mph off

Ya well I dont know how accurate those things are but your figures sound about right. As for trying to make the 305 a 12 second engine I do not think it would be worth they money because it doesnt have as much potency as something like a 383, Ls1, or anything around those lines. If it was me I would just be satified with 14 seconds and save up my money for a stronger more potent engine to swap in. A swap would be very easy and simple after seeing your engine bay, its very clean and from what I can tell you have absolutely no emission controls. Plus if you keep an old school engine over haalf that stuff will swap over to lets say a 350 or maybe 383.

if i install nitrous and hit it with a 150hp shot...that car will hit a 12.9 or better....plus i can use it on the future ls1 install

Nitrous is a good idea. I did the same thing with my 305. Then I put the same kit on my LT1 after it went in.

Oh my bad, I didnt know they will swap over so go right ahead. I do think a 150 shot is way to much though for a 305, maybe not for a LS1 though. How do they swap over so easily, me confused.

its a little bit of work...but so is swapping in a normal 350..

150 is not too much, just as long as everything is set up correctly

my g-tech times are consistantly .1 slower than what i actually run at the track. the mph however, is always way off. those are my experiences at least.
