Re: why is my abs light on?

first check your third brake light, if its out your ABS light will come on.

if its still working look at your ABS sensors and see if the snow knocked one of out or broke one

Re: why is my abs light on?

would this be the same as the brake light in the dash? my montecarlo, has abs, but i don't think it has an abs light, that i have seen, and on my oldsmobile, i had the brake light come one cause the mc was low on fluid. just another thing to check.

I had that too.

It's because the rear wheels turned so much more then the front that the ABS computer is confused so it shuts down.
After I turned my car off and started it up it was fine.

My abs light has come on before, and all you do is stop the car and start it back up again. It resets the computer and the abs works fine. I live in Canada and drive through the whole winter in tons of snow so that's not the reason.

Re: why is my abs light on?

i had a problem a few months back with this same issue, brought it to a brake guy,and he said a wire came out of the sensor or some kinda thing so he put it back in re-soldered it and no problems since and my abs works again, but in wet weather not snow ever try to lock your brakes,i mean you really have to stand on them,at least with my ceramics I do.
