My friend has a 3.1 and wants to add nitrous and I told him not to go over a 50 shot. Is it safe to go over that on a V6? It will be an NX wet kit if that means anything. Thanks in advance.

biggest safe shot on 3.1 V6phoenix916 10-09-2002, 12:42 AM My friend has a 3.1 and wants to add nitrous and I told him not to go over a 50 shot. Is it safe to go over that on a V6? Of course, with a bigger motor, you should be able to handle a bit more nitrous. Good friend of mine has a 96 S-10, with the HO Vortech 4.3L. He was spraying a 75 shot, but has moved up to around a 100 or 125 shot (can't remember). He hasn't sprayed it long enough to really say how good/bad that is. If it were my car (had a 3.1L RS, never bothered modding it), I'd spray probably a 75 shot. George Debski 10-09-2002, 07:13 AM A good rule of thumb for a maximum shot on a stock bottom is 2hp per square inch of piston area. This will generally keep you below 300psi BMEP at 3000RPM. | ||
