Did the 16 year-old bother to shift out of 2nd gear?

Thats all ya got? I was expecting at least a decent story... Are you sure it wasn't a Diablo kit car?

Most of the exotics run lack-luster 1/4 times (compared to their hp ratings) due to the high/narrow powerbands (from the "small" displacements and high rpm to make those 500hp ratings) and tall gearing.

With that said... run him on top end and see what happens :)

Good kill

The lambo was built for two things(the highway and road course),its not much of a drag car.lol

those supercars run much faster than some of us on this board (including myself) tend to think. You can find any internet site that will claim 13 second times for a lamborghini. You will also find them claiming 11.6 seconds.

The thing that seems consistent is their 120mph+ trap speeds. If you put slicks and gears/rear end on a lambo, im sure the 1/4 will drop by up to a full second.

Not for the same year and model, though.

I've got a vid on my computer of a lambo murcialgo (sp?) loosing to either a t/a or a camaro. The lambo ran a low 13 in the 1/4 . They are top end cars, and I imagine most of their owners do not drive them to the max to achieve great times in the 1/4.

most of their owners simply do not know how to drag race. C & D gets good times out these cars. These cars beat the z06 in the 0-60, in under 4 seconds, so if they are not just "top end cars", but relatively speaking they perform at their best on the highway.

Aren't most Lambos AWD? With the engine out back? With huge tires? Traction can't be that much of a problem... At least not when you're comparing that to an f-body with lots of low end and skinny tires.

All the newer Lambo's (Diablo, Mucielago, Gallardo) run 120+ traps in the quarter. E.T.s, as we all know, is largely influenced by the driver. A *well driven* Lambo should be able to get well into the 11s bone stock.

In this case, you beat the driver of a Lambo, and for that you deserve congratulations.

Exactly. Anybody getting 13s out of a 120+ mph car, drives like sh**. A 120+ mph car should get low 12s to high 11s with a good driver.

Yup. The clutch on a Lambo costs around $3500 I think. I doubt the owner was worrying too much about his 60'.

Then you really need to stop showing it those type of sites :p

There is a guy with a H/C TA called HAVOC over on the LS1 forums that has a cool ass video of a new VT 6.0 liter dragging him down the highway from a roll on.

I will see If I can track down the link.
The Lambo is not geared for 1/4 mile racing , but really is a roll on monster.

Click the above link for the TA vs LAMBO Video.

Edit**** Apparently the video link is dead and is out of date. You may have to log into need2speed to access it. Well worth the time in my opinion.

Thats what I was thinking .
I have seen clowns " rich guys who have never turned a wrench" come into the Race track with Vipers and run high 13's low 14's , consistantly .
Ever raced a Viper on the highway ? Shew ...My best friend did ...with me in the car . It beat his cammed LS1 formula like a red headed step child .Stood up and left like we were not moving . seemed like anyway . Of course the LS1was geared" 410's" but still ,I couldnt believe my eyes as to how fast that car took off . It was like nothing I have ever seen .
I could only imagine what A lambo would do . probably the same exact thing . Or for that matter...a 06 Zo6 :D

Is that the same as the 2000 Diablo? If so, it might turn 11.6s with a high rpm launch on a perfect day.

very similar except the 01' is a vt with awd and 20hp more but its a little heavier from awd instead of rwd and its a 6.0 instead of 5.7 so there about the same, so whoever was driving that diablo must have been on crack cause even the oldest ones do low 12's
