Just thought i'd throw it out there since I found nothng in a search i just did...

How do your plugs look after running through a bottle or two? What kind of shot are you running? Any difference on and off the bottle?

I'm not gonna lie, i checked half of my plugs tonight and they all seem to have a nice bright orange/brown/yellow tint to them.JUst the ceramic really. No damage or wear. They are NGK UR5 plugs which is 1 step colder for my 305. Gapped at .035-.036

I've been through about 15lbs of juice..all from my NX kit with the 100HP pills in it. Base timing is around 6 degrees(stock). I made all of my runs on Sunoco 94 gas and the last few with some Torco concentrate(I assume the gas was then around 97-98 octane.) This week filled up with Turbo Blue 101...Possibly that has to do with my odd plug color

My ET went from 15.60 to 13.30!! No joke I also gained 18 MPH on my best run. Anyone wanna expand on that? I've NEVER seen a gain like that in relation to my jetting size...

later fellas

My plugs all look like they did before I used the juice. Although - i have never checked the plugs RIGHT after I have been on the spray.... since this is my daily driver it gets alot of miles on it.

My plus all look normal. Grey on the ends - no orange tint etc.

Although last time of I checked my spark plugs - two of them had fresh motor oil on the THREADS. Only on the threads. Ceramic was clean, electrode clean etc. Now explain that to me :)

Denny,
I was checking my plugs Saturday after 100 shots.
Also a kinda of yellow/gold color. I was told by Taner/ Roman
it might be a bit lean and I upped the fuel. I didn't check them after my last run though.
Monster improvements for you Sat. very impressive.
Hope this helps
Kevin

Unleaded fuel will not color your plugs as much, usually a tan/brown shade. Main thing to look for is at the base of the electrode porcelin, look for any speckling from detonation. They will look like little black specks. You have to use a light, and sometimes a magnifying glass to look all the way down at the base of the plug, since the heat of the combustion will usually burn off any deposits toward the tip. If you see any shiny specs under the light and magnifying glass, that is usually aluminum or moly coating coming off your rings/pistons. Normally it will knock all the carbon off the piston first.

I've seen a greenish tint on my plugs, more than once.
That was on NGKs. Haven't checked the autolites yet, to see if it's the same.
But the race gas I use is blue. So that may have something to do with it.

did you adjust the rockers on the car with the motor running??? That may have been the cause for the oil on the spark plug threads. I had it happen after I did.
