I bought a t56 w/ crossmember, bell housing, clutch, flywheel, tranny mount, shifter, and torque arm and exhaust brackets from 9730thcam a couple of days ago. I need to sell it as I just found a screaming deal on a Sebring Conv. and can't afford to keep this transmission. I was told that it was just rebuilt 275 miles ago with new synchros, STEEL shift forks, new reverse gear, and everything else associated w/ a normal rebuild (bearing, seals, etc.) and has a new GM (Valeo) clutch, and the flywheel was just resurfaced. I only want out of this setup what I paid into it, which was $1200. I was also told it was out of a 97 z28 w/ 80K that was getting a stroker motor and being converted to an auto. I can ship it anywhere, or it can be picked up (I am in Topeka, Ks zip 66614). If it was shipped it would most likely be through American Freight, and would run between $100-$150. I also have a brand new in box, never opened or used, GM hydraulic setup that I would sell for $100 (lists for $188 from the dealer). The only thing left you would need to do an auto to 6 speed swap is the shifter boot, pedals, and console insert. I can't guarantee anything since I haven't really used it, and can't afford to since the money would go straight to the Sebring, all I can tell you is what he told me. I also have a rear out of an lt1 trans am w/ posi and 3.23 gears. It will not include brakes as I am using them on a 68 camaro, but will include shocks. I want $225 for it and shipping would be about the same for it. It is in good condition, and I thought it needed replaced b/c of a slight howl under deceleration, but now that I have changed rears there is still a howl. I changed driveshafts and now there is no howl, but thought anyone buying it should know this just in case the messed up driveshaft might have put some additional wear on the pinion bearing (which isn't very much to replace).
