Poor Brakes = Hard Spot?

Hello - happy new year

Looking for a bit of help with the brakes on my 95 Firehawk.

The brakes have been bled (ABS unit too) and, whilst bleeding , the pedal travel is normal. With the motor off the pedal is hard (normal) whilst braking the pedal goes down so far (about half way) and then will not go any further -pushing harder doesn't really produce any more braking performance!

Rotors were new lask year with 15k or so on them - front pads are EBC green stuff. The problem seems to have come on gradually with no sudden change in performance - they are very poor now!

Thanks in advance

Provided the brakes bled ok and we can rule out an air bubble, the only thing I can think of is that the pads may be glazed. Anyone else got any ideas?

Could be some debris in the master cylinder or it's just gone bad.

When was the last time the fluid was changed? Even though you've bleed the brakes, brake fluid is hydroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture over time. Moisture will cause the brakes to feel spongy. I suggest replacing the brake fluid (bleeding out all the old fluid and replacing with fresh). I like Valvoline's Synethetic fluid; it has a boiling point of 500 degress F and is cheap - $6 a quart.

Mine has the same problem. If I pump the brakes (while driving) the pedal is normal. If I just step on it while driving the pedal falls. Over 60 MPH if I have to do an emergency stop It's not going to happen. I tried everything.
