im looking for the lightest but still better than stock lt1 front brake for a 93-97 trans am. it is used in drag racing, and i guess wildwood who normally make great lightweight brakes doesnt do GM. any ideas anyone? i just want to lose some weight on the front, also if you have approx weights in comparison to stock that would be great. i was thinking,

1. Baer Claw Systems, Front 93-97 F-body. (Track) PBR 2 Piston, 13" x .81" Rotors
or
2. Baer Claw Systems, Front 93-97 F-body. (Sport) PBR 2 Piston, 12" x 1.10
thanks for any info. also if it helps to know i will run 15 or 16 inch skinnies, and have all other lightweight components going in front.

Wilwood does have an f body setup for LT1ers. It runs a bit over 1000$ if I remember correctly. Also, the C5 setup with Bob's aluminum brackets weighs less than the stock setup, and obviously performs ten times better.

There are cheaper ways to lose weight off the front of your car. If that is your only concern. Less unsprung weight is always a good thing, but if you are on more of a budget why not !AC, !Front Sway, K member....ect?

ac, swaybar... all that craps been done, im going all the way money isnt the option, i have the good majority of the other stuff lightened up too, so back to my question...brakes, anyone have any weights or any other info on the wildwoods? anyone know where i can get them, i need brakes up front anyway so why not spend the $$ it's worth it to me. so let me know the best options, and the weight differences. thanks again guys.
anyone who has a link for the wildwoods let me know, i think the c5 brakes will be too big for 15 inch rims, maybe i could do them with a 16 but i dont see too big a weight difference.

Is this a street car? There are several companies (Aerospace, Strange, and Mark Williams) that make lightweight front brake setup's, but I wouldn't recommend them for the street.

How about Titanium

Or you could go with ceramic.

IF you're wanting to run 15 and 16 inch wheels, your choices are stock brakes or stock brakes. even LS1 brakes wont fit on anything below 16 inchers.

solid stainless steel has a drag only setup with solid fronts and an aluminum hat. weighs less than any other i've seen, but you can only use it on the track, it's not street legal. they also have a rear set with solid rotors. oh, and if you ask me for a link i'm going to suggest google with "solid stainless steel brakes" and "ssb" in the search bar...good luck, do your own searching, we've given you the topics to search for

So how do I see all these LS1s running Draglites, Pro Stars, etc.?

If it's for a drag racing setup, go w/ A-space, AJE, Strange or Mark Williams. I'd be wary of any setup that replaces the spindle (like the Strange) on the street.

because those are slicks and skinnies, not street tires with 8+ inch wide wheels
