93 Trans Am vs 350z
93 Trans Am vs 350z
i was on my way home from school, and in traffic i saw a red 350z cutting everyone off. i caught up to him and got behind him at a light, i saw him adjust his rearview mirror so knew it was on. sure enough he guns it on green becasue there is a mile stretch ahead of us, anyway he takes off and i spin a little. he had about two cars off the line but i pulled on him hard, by 65 i blew past him like he was standing still. i slowed down to see if he wanted another but he wasnt having any of it. i let him drive past me and i saw it was a rich kid from one of the neighboring towns, he was with his girlfreind and she just gave me a little smile and a wink as i flew by them. i really expected him to stay with me since i did have my cutout closed. basically my exhaust negates the fact i have LT's because its an OEM LS1 catback w/ a 3" cutout before the axle. but anyway, i enjoyed putting that kid in his place because he always thinks his cars the ****, revving at every neon on campus. still waiting to line up with this guy who acts the same way with his '05 stang.

Good kill.
Re: 93 Trans Am vs 350z
on that particular run i trapped 98mph but i usually trap 100+ in better weather, just that the weather down here kills any performance. BTW i just read that an '05 GT has ran a 13.5@102, but this guy has one around town and takes it to the track every now and then but he barely runs 13.9@100. most stock LS1's run just about the same, and LT1's run between 14.4-14.8@96. when i was stock i ran 14.7@93, then 14.3@96 with CAI and cut out, now with the stall and LT's ive managed to run 13.5@98 on slicks. et streets get me better times than when i run on street tires, but they really slow down my mph. i have gone 13.69@102 on street tires but i cant really take advantage of the stall because i just spin all the way through 2nd.

Antz thanks for the thumbs up, but just to prove my point i went down to the track friday night and i went 13.3@101 w/ a 1.84 60ft. only thing changed was that i was running 17" Z06 rims up front instead of the old 245/50's.
Nice kill on the 350Z
I'm waiting to run my buddy with a stock 93 300Z
It's definately a pretty car, all red, 100k miles, 5 speed, non-turbo, tinted windows, 2+2, leather, but I don't think I should have much of a problem with it. I'd like to run his dad's 2004 350Z, which apparently has 430 horses at the crank
so he says. All I know is it has intake and exhaust and "a bunch of other stuff" to acheive this HP rating. I'm imagining with my mods and my 2.73s on brand new KDWS's, I should have my hands full and then some, but we'll see

Re: 93 Trans Am vs 350z
thanks guys on the kill, LT1wanabe if i were you i would get a cuout and really cream him. a few years ago i had a 94 t/a with the same mods as yours and i went 14.1@97 then i uncapped the cutout and went 13.8@100. really good gain over the flowmaster. this was done on bald BFG's, so you should really get out of the hole fast with the 2.73's and those new tires.
