captain_foustas 12-02-2004, 05:42 PM I was browsing the pontiac website and decided to see if the firebird page was still up. so i typed www.pontiac.com/firebird and the old firebird page pops up. i start remencing the good old days when i click on the firebird heritage option.
on the lst picture where it shows all the firebirds old and new it says at the bottom "Five Generations" and "5 trans am generations, and it shows all 4 generations with two 4th gens.
now am i crazy or where thyr only 4 generations of firebirds and did it alwys say that? coz i could have sworn it said 4 generations before.
not trying to stir anything thats not there up, just curious.
i appoligize if this has already been addressed.
jcamere94z28 12-02-2004, 05:55 PM i am guessing that someone counted the "special" edition trans-ams like generations. And that's just a mistake from their side. there is only 4 Gens of Firebird just like the camaro
TurboDropTop 12-02-2004, 05:59 PM Yea its been like that. I remember seeing that awhile back and saying hmmmm 5 gens? but chalked it up to them acting like LT1's and LS1's as diff gens, baaaah who knows. But I don't think theres anything to that.

Bold, beautiful, passionate, rebellious. Few cars have defined our lives and times like the great Pontiac Firebird. From the first models, to the awesome Trans Am, to the magnificent madness of the Super Duty 455. There's a story in each and every one; a piece of our past and even a glimmer of the future.
What's that all about??

It means the only way there will be a future Firebird is in the best of your dreams.
Big Als Z 12-02-2004, 10:27 PM That glimmer is a GTO, Solstice, and G6 coupe off in the distance...
captain_foustas 12-02-2004, 10:47 PM lol damn

I go to this site every few months to see if the wording has changed...
I could swear (and a few others here agreed) that the "future" part was not there when the page first was published.
It's been like that for probably 9-12 months now though with no change.

It says 5 generations an shows 5 cars with descriptions of all 5. (Yes two are 4th gens.)
I think you're only doing some wishful hoping. :D
CLEAN 12-03-2004, 07:18 PM I think they're talking about the 5 special models, although there were really 6 I suppose. They show the original, the 10th, the 20th, the 25th, and the Collectors Edition. They left out the 15th for some reason.
eagleknight97 12-04-2004, 03:54 AM You know, looking at the 5 generations link, it all becomes clear why the GTO is CONSTANTLY compared to the Firebird, and is faulted for not looking good, like the Bird did. Its because Pontiac explicitly says it! "The Trans Am cast a long shadow. But hold on. Because out on the horizon there's a new GTO."
