whats the max timing i wanna have?
What is the highest timing i wanna have? I believe it would be to get the most until i get knocking, and pull back a degree or two?
so if my motor doesnt knock, and i'm at 20 degrees, i can keep turning it up until say 27 where i get a knock, and go back a degree or two, and keep it there?

Re: whats the max timing i wanna have?
You need to give some details on your setup (how much boost and what's the compression?)
The gas you use will have a bearing on how much timing you can run.
Are you running an intercooler?
What a/f ratio are you shooting for and what are you using it tune it?

Re: whats the max timing i wanna have?
That's not the case at all. You might want to do a search as this has been discussed before. But the only way to empirically determine optimum timing is on a dyno or at the track. That said, most blown LT1's seem to do best with 24-26degrees.
