Oil Leak - Can I stop the smell from inside the car?RansZ28 12-02-2004, 01:55 AM So I have a small leak. When it does it hits the exhaust and I can smell it inside the car. RedHottG2 12-02-2004, 10:43 AM Easiest way around your prob is to just fix the leak. ;) TraceZ 12-02-2004, 04:44 PM Here is another vote for fixing the leak. Why is this even a question? RansZ28 12-02-2004, 06:32 PM Here is another vote for fixing the leak. Why is this even a question? I used the die and just cant find the leak. Whats it to you? TraceZ 12-02-2004, 06:43 PM I used the die and just cant find the leak. Whats it to you? Well, geez you didnt say you couldnt find it. You made it sound like you were too lazy to try and fix it and wanted a "rig". Start by narrowing it down to a lower leak or a upper leak. The intake manifold commonly leaks at the rear edge where it meets the block. Take a towel and wipe back there, see if it is wet. It is not tooooo hard to replace the intake manifold gaskets. The valve cover gaskets are cheap and easy to replace if they are the culprit. Lower motor leaks like the oil pan and timing cover usually dont get on the exhaust, they just drip on the ground. Good luck. Z28SORR 12-03-2004, 01:19 PM I used the die and just cant find the leak. Whats it to you? Here's a clue, where will be a wet oily substance near the leak. ;) Have we been having a hard day? | ||
