ladder bars --- Oppinions
ladder bars --- Oppinions
Ok guys, after a good inspection of my T/A i am convinced that the upper panhard bar mount is tweaked rather badly, this is the reason my alignment is still off. What i am thinking of doing is removing the facory panhard rod and control arms and going to a ladder bar setup. I am planning to re-use the factory rear end due to the fact that this car will never see real high horsepower levels. My question to you is after i eliminate the factory control arms and panhard rod and torque arm do you think it will be possible to continue using the factory springs and shocks in there current locations while using a ladder bar setup. I really see no need to switch to coil overs if i do not have to, leaving the stock suspension would make this an easy process, atleast i would think so. Any of you have experience with this? I mean this is my everyday driver so it has to be decent on the street. Any help i can get here would be appreciated. Thanks!
Re: ladder bars --- Oppinions
Ladder bars are not exactly street friendly... I've got a car with a 4-link in it, and it's no where near something that I would drive everyday, neither is my solid-jointed WS6's suspension.
I think it would be more work and hassle than it's worth to put a ladder bar setup in your car properly; I mean 1/2 assed I can see it being done.. but for the $$ it'll cost you to put it in properly you could replace the entire rear suspension with the good upper and lower PHRs, and LCAs and maybe even an adjustable T/A and your car will align and handle just fine.
Plus if your car is tweaked more than just that top PHR and your chassis is tweaked, no matter that you do you're looking at a couple hundred to get it strapped to a collision rack and straightened.
