Thumbs up 9 bolt rear end

Is a 9 bolt 3.45 posi PBR rear end stronger than a stock 10bolt rear end?
What i am trying to say is, will it not blow out at the track...
Its my car to much for that rear end also??

Re: 9 bolt rear end

the axles are bolted in and not c-cliped so in a sence yes it is stronger but what ever you do it's still a 7.75 axle, i wouldn't put any more that 400 hp to it...

Re: 9 bolt rear end

i've heard they are stronger than 10 bolts but look at it this way. The stock 10bolt is a 7.5 inch ring gear, the 9 bolt is a 7.75, and most aftermarket rears for our cars, like 12bolts, 8.8's and 9 inches all have 8.8in or above ring gears.

Re: 9 bolt rear end

a 9 bolt is alittle stronger, but is not as common. With that the cost of rebuilds are much higher than a 10 bolt or other common rears like a 9inch, 12bolt ect..
