Depends on how well you know your car, there are a LOT of variables that can effect how long it takes... for most people 1-4 hours...
Some of us who have done it a few too many times can do a full swap in under an hour.

With out ever pulling a trans before, and stopping to go grab the right size sockets and that sort of thing I pulled mine in about 3.5 hours. I reinstalled it in less, once you get it up high enough and you get onder there you will see what is needed to do it. I first thoughthat I didn't need to, but dropping the Y-pipe will make it easier, I took mine most of the way out then found if I dropped the Y-pipe sooner I would have already been done! Trying to work around the Y-pipe and the fact that it won't allow the trans to drop down as far, to get to the top bolts probably added about an hour to my removal. I followed a lot of this write up even though it was for a converter swap, they still droped the trans. http://www.zmydust.com/converter.html

I'll say 2-3 hours.
Us pros can take them out and stick it back in almost exactly an hour.

From the time the car was pulled in the garage until the trans was on my bench...20 minutes. OK, so that was from a professional installer  . To be realistic, though...These transmissions are pretty easy to get out. I'd say 1.5-2 hours for a "rookie".

I pulled mine out by myself and it took about 3 hours, I wasn,t rushing.
Had a friend help me install it and it took about 30 minutes.

Im on a basis now of doing it, its about 3 hours if its your first time, 1 or so if you done it 2 or more times.
