If I am tapping into the tach line by the computer connector by the battery can I just get any old tach that says it is compatible with 8cylinder engines? If I tap into the line, properly ground and power the tach I could use pretty much any standard one? ( I am hoping to buy one on the cheap with a shift light for now and replace it with a monster tach later in the same mounting position).
