Does anyone else notice their tires vibrate when they are cold?

I have 2 questions. I have 17" KDW's and I notice that when I first take off in the morning, they vibrate like they are out of balance for the first few miles. Then they smooth out. Does anyone else notice that sort of behavior?

The other question is how are you handling wear with directional tires of different sizes that can't be rotated? Is anyone switching sides even though they would be turning backwards or what?

I've had a couple of sets of KDW's, but never noticed anything like that. Maybe it's because when they are cold the rubber is pretty hard and warms up after a few miles.

What comes to rotating the tires, there's nothing much you can do, really... Do not reverse the direction, though.

I've thought the same thing, I have Yoko AVS ES 100's and on cool mornings it feels like there's a slight vibration.

I'd suspect flat spotting, which disappears as the tire rubber warms up. How long does the car "sit" between drives? I get that with my slicks if the cars sits unused for a while.

I think a directional tire would lose its "water shedding" ability if you ran it in the backwards direction. Could expose it to an increased possibility of hydro-planing.

It’s normal depending on the tires and the weather.

I feel the same thing rarely but sometimes when the tires are cold. After a short mile or two the slight vibration stops and doesn't return sometimes for days, weeks or months again, depending on the weather.

So for those with directional tires, what kind of wear are you seeing? Like length of time or uneveness or the like?

I've always had the same size until now. So fat I've drive about 8K miles and the wear is good on all 4. No need for any adjustments or rotation.
