Preface:
The car sat out in a hail storm about 4 months ago. It received some pretty heavy damage to the hood and rear quarters; essentially anything that is actually metal on these cars took a beating. I work at a GM dealership that has a full service body shop, and IMO we have two of the best body men and painter in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area so I decided to bring it in.
The original quote was for a hair shy of $2,300, which really wasn't as much as I thought it would be.
Fast forward two months.
Body shop manager leaves. New body shop manager is hired on. I have him re-estimate the car, and he finds it completely different. Long story short, the entire car got repainted with some help from a couple friends in the body shop doing work on the side for pizza and beer.
Yes, I know it needs to be lowered. I essentially have every suspension part you can think of sitting in storage that I have to install, and I will add those pictures later on.
There are a few things that need to be fixed, but overall I am very happy.
The hood is a Suncoast Creations SS piece. The fit was amazing. The gaps are better than the stock hood, and I am thrilled with the overall quality of it.
The spoiler is a Wings West 98+ SS piece. The fit was horse****. We had to put a ton of time into getting that thing to look even halfway decent.
The wheels are real Corvette Y2K's. 18*9.5 all around, still searching for a wider rear wheel but have yet to find one.
The Z28 badges are from a 1969 dz302 car.
Let me know what you all think.
