a thank you to all that have helped and a question as usual lol

I just wanted to thank all the people for their advice and input in helping me with my car..As long as ive been a member to this forum, my car has been in the shop lol. We just got the car to turn over after a complete engine rebuild. I want to thank rskrause for all the insight and help, and to all those that have helped me i forget names im sorry lol......but im not in the clear yet. I dont know if this was wise, but we started the car without a tune..just to make sure..we had..everythin done right..ie all the lines etc...that we had fuel pressure ok..and so on...The point of all this is..the car turned over ran horribly which was expected but then a puddle of oil started to form under the car...and it came from the supercharger. The supercharger sat for approxinately 3 yrs without being run. We currently have an oil cooler in the car..and..the oil cooler line output is running into the ati procharger i think...... Do any of you think the seal on the supercharger just went because the supercharger was not being used for a long time? Is it possible that the oil pressure somehow was too great the way we ran it...and caused the seal to go..I know this is a loaded question because i myself dont have all the facts..i havent spoken back to my friend who did the car....again thanks for the help to all.

So you ran the oil feed to the cooler, to the supercharger, then back to the pan through the supercharger drain hose?

I doubt it's the seals. Most likely a loose line or fitting. It shouldn't be a big problem, keep you chin up

Check the return line for kinks or looseness first. You may get lucky.

Letting the charger sit should not cause seals to go bad.

Quite often the oil feed line is overtightened (be careful it is brass) & cracks where it goes in the blower, causing an oil leak.

The P600B has no factory performance upgrades available.

i talked to my friend whos workin on the car. he thinks its possible that air in the engine and oil caused the problem..the oil looked very aerated..like it was frothy..it didnt look like oil really....maybe..the oil didnt flow..and just kept building up inside the blower..the car was only run a few minutes..and this happened..i mean all considered, things could be worse but he said its definitely leakin from the blower not any fittings...we are using that oil cooler..i dont think it caused the problem. we were tryin to get away from punching the oil pan...and just run it through the oil cooler etc..he explained how he had it run.. the engine output of oil cooler..to the oil cooler radiator to the supercharger and then back to the input on the oil cooler adapter..somethin like that..he said hed contact ati..personally i hope i dont have to send it in..and we can just get the gasket..and go from there..and probably not have the blower hooked up...till we get a tune in the car...and break in the motor..then...hook up the supercharger..again thanks for all the help..

i just thought of somethin....we had a few dry heave starts...he forgot to connect the power to the msd.....it was like a few cranks on the motor... a couple..before he realized...it wasnt hooked up....is it possible that cranking it over...put air into the motor..maybe its a stretch..but again that oil.didnt look like oil when it came out of the blower..it looked like somethin from starbuks heh

The P600B uses a gravity type drain to get the oil back to the pan. Aren't both sides of the oil cooler pressurized to some extent? I remember I looked into using an aftermarket oil cooler base to run my V1, but the company that made it said both ports were pressurized so a gravity drain wouldn't work with it. Just a thought.

You must use a gravity return. Hooking the blower in series with an oil cooler will not work.

I hope you did not ruin the blower seals by pressurizing the blower with oil pressure.

I would suggest hooking it up correctly & see what happens.

Sending it in is approx. $375 & ATI will not sell replacement parts to the public. Without proper tools you may also damage the charger during disassembly.

wonderful..a major screw up...with my luck its probably toast...the oil was comming out of the blower according to my friend..at this point do i spend 375.00 to get an obsolete unit running or..look for a new head unit..ie i assume we'll have to punch the pan..and set it up like it used to be correct? ..i dont see why they wont sell us the parts.at this point..id rather take the gamble and try fixing it..rather than spending the money for ati to do it..could i get replacement parts for the p600 through you?

ATI does not sell seals or bearings to anyone, including dealers or distributors.

You may be able to buy some components from a bearing distributor. I do not recommend you try to service your charger as you stand a good chance of damaging more components without the proper tools. I can not make any profit from rebuilds (you must go factory direct), so I am only recommending that you use them for you best interest.
