I am looking to remove my engine from the top. I have removed all coolant hoses, fuel hoses, air and my intake. I was curious what else needs to be removed in order to remove the engine. I will be removing the Tranny with the engine. Also, if there is a tutorial somewhere I would appreciate that as well.
Thanks!

If you're removing the tranny with the engine and doing it through the top, I suggest removing the radiator too...I learned the hard way....1 slip and you can mess it up...its a tight squueze sometimes

I have all the engine wiring removed that goes on both sides of the valve covers and makes that "Y" at the firewall. I remvoed the intake manifold, Radiator, Alternator, basically everything in the front besides the pulleys and the water pump. I saw that there was still more wiring that goes underneath the engine. I used my creeper and found a 12 gauge? wire that looked like a ground wire and more wires on the drivers side of the car. Is there any other wires on the bottom of the engine that I need to be worried about before pulling the motor?
Oh yah, The Opti Is still hooked up to the car as well. I disconnected the exhaust manifold from the car too.

There's a harness that runs on the bottom right side for the starter, O2 sensor, and the knock sensor. Is there any particular reason why you want to remove the tranny with the motor?

By the right side you mean drivers or passengers? I have heard that it is a lot easier to install/remove the engine with the tranny. So thats why I was going to do it.

I am almost done! Anything special that anyone forgot when they were pulling their motor? I plan on doing this tomorrow.

Any links on how to remove the driveshaft from the tranny on a M6 would be greatfully apprecaited as well! I have to do that yet and unbolt the engine mounts. I was very happy to finally get all the engine bay things that needed to be removed done. I have everything pretty much labeled too except for about 10 connections which are hopefully pretty much self explanitory.
Btw, is there supposed to be a hole in the starter? I have one that looks like the size of a pencil. Possibly a plug is supposed to be in place there?
