ground wire problem

If they have broken off the metal piece that slips over the bolt can it simply be re saudered(sp?) on or must it be replaced. Also if it must be replaced can I use any copper wire of similar gauge and splice it in?

Re: ground wire problem

Crimp a new ring on the wire. If a wire needs to be extended, use wire of the same or larger gauge.
