is there any hood other than the ram-air hood out there for a 98+ firebird? I see cowl hoods and big block hoods for the LT1's but all i can find for a LS1 firebird are the ram-air hoods. Anyone know of any other hoods out there b/c im getting ready to re-do my whole car and need to get a new hood but i want something other than stock and other than the ram-air hood.

That's all I can think of right now...I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. Mecham quality sucks - I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. You can see pics of my Mecham hood on my old Pewter & Red TA on my website...

The hood on the '99 was a Mecham hood. NOthing but problems with it. Low quality, poor fit, crappy customer service, and poor durability.

 

my cousin bought an LS1 style Mecham hood used on eBay. The seller had a black car, and my cousin has a black car so he just picked it up (local seller) and bolted it on. We had to mess around with it a bit, but we never noticed any fitment or quality problems with it.
