Well after my rather discouraging dyno session, I decided to do some tuning that was in order. Adjusted my RR's, leaned out my fuel cells, told the PCM not to pull so much timing in KR. Also since my last track run I removed the front/rear bumper supports and the air pump, total weight savings of 49 lbs, 31 of that on the front.
Results :
60' - 1.677
330' - 4.823
660' - 7.500@91.47 MPH
1000' - 9.776
1320' - 11.751@115.96 (best was 116.05 of the night)
Absolutely no traction at the track, I even chirped them shifting into 2nd which I normally never do. Before the weight removal I was cutting 1.64-1.65 every time. I was expecting 1.60-1.62, but D42 had no track prep what so ever. I figure with track prep I might have gotten a 11.60 something. It is still breaking up some on the big end and the motor just feels like it is having a hard time making power in the upper rpm. I hope to fix this when I get away from the basically stock exhaust and go to a 3-1/2" system.
Interesting note - the dyno shop I go to rented the track for 3 hours. I got in 16 runs(13 me driving, 3 my dad) letting my car cool and bs'ing. Sorta cool being 1 of only 8 cars running at the track, but I was the only GM, the rest were 6 Mustangs(1 mid 12's@114-117, 2 mid 13's@100-108, 2 low 14's@97 and the other one should be 10's, but probs made 18's) and a Lightning(high 12's@106). Best $35 I have spent racing in a long time.
Just thought I would share.
