As some of you have been following my story, about my unusual Tire blowout, I have finally got a response back from Toyo Tires Insurance Claim Service. They have DENIED THE CLAIM!!!!! They apparently said that the sidewall looks like it was rubbing on something??? If my tire was rubbing on something, First I wouldnt be driving it, Second I would get on the DAMN freeway. Please look at the following photos and tell me if it looks like I dont take care of my vehicle, let alone, my rims and tires. This is absolutely bulls**t... After having my tire for over a month, they tell me this? Keep in mind this was a 285/35/18 NT555 (NOT NT555R) that was almost brand new!!

Beware what you buy, especially Nitto. I had never had a problem with them before, but I guess there is a first with everything.

The photo's don't really show enough to determine what happened. It sucks, but I won't let one bad experience keep me from buying tires that I have had great luck with.

Good luck!

Look at pic #2. You can see the inner liner of the sidewall is all torn up(the sidewall that is still there on the inner part of the wheel) . Looks to me like the tire lost air pressure and was driven on. This causes the side wall to wear in what is known as a heat ring. They blow out just like that. Could have run something over or maybe there was a loose valve core from when you had them mounted, you never know.

sorry to hear they arent taking care of you.

That's SO ****ED UP. Let me know if there is anything I can do. IMO, this should be a sticky thread until the company does the right thing, and takes care of the customer.

There are creative ways to get the internet community behind you and your claim. Got any more pics of the car BTW ?

Sorry to hear, looks like ur gonna need a new rim too but they are some nice lookin rims though as well as the car. I would at least think they'd give u some kind of discount, better than nothing but it better be a good discount.

Ur Z06 rivet wheels, are they powdercoated or painted, i have a thread goin but nobody answers except one. I'm planning on gettin the same one's since i'm almost gonna need new tires so why not get new rims at the same time but i want powdercoated and i can't find any and for some reason i can't email RKSport who has them, never works.

Well goodluck with the tire problem, hope they take care of it for you.

Thats pathetic. Just what in the hell do they expect the rim to be rubbing on?

Did you use spacers with those 18x9.5 ZO6 wheels or did you do any clearancing before you installed them? Just curious because my 18x9.5 Y2k's were rubbing on the inside of the tire for a while before I realized how close they were to the inner fender. I had to do some "modifications" to the inner fenders and also removed my bumpstops. If I let it go longer I bet I would have eventually blown a tire. Not saying your tires couldnt have been defective, just a thought.

no, no spacers, they didnt need spacers. I had no bump stops, and my inner fenderwells were already modified...

I've been looking for pictures of your car and came across your post by chance. How do you like your rims? Someone mentioned that those rims look good from 10 feet away but look like they are poor quality up close. I think they look awesome on your car and would like some of your impressions. Thanks...

I love them..I get compliments all the time for them. As far as the quality, they are just fine. They look good to me, and everyone else. Right now they are getting the outer lip, polished even more than they were....

I had a set of NT 555Z's and I hated em. They had much less grip than my stock BFG comp ta's. But since they don't make the comp TA anymore, I had to switch to my new love, Eagle F1's (w/ ultra cool deep groove V tread pattern)
