Question Easy question for you guys about my clutch...

My clutch went out last week and I took it out today. It was the stock clutch, lasted 147,xxx miles!!! The spring hub on the clutch disk halfway separated from the disk. I'm going to be ordering either the SPEC Stage I or II tomorrow and was wondering how important it was to get a new flywheel?? I'm having my stock one resurfaced right now and figured that might work, but have read a few things about maybe having balancing problems with an aftermarket clutch.

Is this really an issue? And also what's the best way to make sure that I line the stuff back up correctly?

Just FYI I'm not planning on modding the car much more than it is now, maybe headers if anything. So I don't need much more than a stock holding clutch.

Thanks for the help,
Kyle

PS - Here's a cut and paste link to the pics of my removal and the flywheel:

I reused my stock flywheel with my Stage IV, havent had any problems. Just get it resurfaced and you should be good.

Good info. Thanks guys. The flywheel should almost be done already, I took it in yesterday to resurface.

Just one more thing; what is used to match up an aftermarket clutch/pp to the stock flywheel for balancing purposes?

Thanks again,
Kyle
