Need part Number : Lower AirBox Assemply

Help Please!

I need the part number for the lower airbox assembly.. The one that we cut for the FRA mod. I want to close mine or I suppose I can just get a metal plate to install in there.. but I'd liket o get a real part if possible.

Thanks.

Lower air box

yes I have one, used only once to keep
the warranty valid.

They are not cheep.
I will sell you mine for a good price.
You can call the dealer, get a price and we can go from there.

Why do you want to go back to the stock box?

Just curious, because I haven't done that FRA mod to my recently aquired Z28. If this cutting up of that air box affects things in any adverse way, I would like to know about it.

Thanks. . .

Yes I am putting it back to stock.

Don't get me wrong.. the FRA works good and a real power adder...

But.....

The Filter gets really nasty. I lived in the east coast for 2 years with the camaro and I've had to pull out Leaves, and crap under the filter almost every day.

Now that I moved to the west.. I get dust, gunk build up, and I hardly ever use the car.

I'm just tired of cleaning it too often.

Now that I have ram-air hood... I no longer need the FRA since it will just be the same thing... less hassle.

Another thing I want to add. Re-sealing the FRA is not as easy as it is. Replacing the lower airbox isnt the only thing you'll need. If you want to do it properply, you'll also need the radiator support and it requires almost tearing down the entire front end. Unless there's another way, I did it the long way then..

Thanks for the info. Does the phrase "there ain't no free lunch" spring to mind? I have held off on cutting anything up on this basically stock '99 that I have only had a little over two months now. "Free mods" in some cases may be worth just about what you paid for them. (IMHO)

Good luck. . .

Listen, It seems like you misinterpreted what I said, I wasn't bashing the Free Ram-Air mod nor did I expect it to be perfect . All I'm saying is, I now have a ram-air hood and I'm tired of cleaning it. You asked I answered.
