Ok, so I'm putting all that stuff in my sig in the car over the next couple weeks. I've taken out everything that would be in the way (A/C, cats, etc.) and disconnected all the wiring harnesses. My question is where do you hook up the chains on the engine hoist? The engine is too far back in the engine bay to be able to get any on the back, so how do you do it? Somebody please help me. I've been scratching my head on this one for a while...
P.S. - Diagrams are nice:thumb:

Put a chain around the radiator support and un-bolt hte k-member, remove the PCM, and the brake lines. LS1's are ment to be removed from below as are LT1's and even 3rd gens can be done that way...Check out how I always do it.

Let's say I did it that way. How do you get it back in?

Roll it back under the car and lower the body onto it. Put the struts in the holes put the bolts in to line it up. Line up the k-member to the body and bolt it all back up.

Is there ANY way to get it out through the top or is the bottom the only way to go?

Yes you can do it out the top, but I dunno how. I've done it out the bottom only.

It CAN go out the top, but it really looks nicer going out the bottom! I've never pulled a motor from a 4th-gen yet, so I have no personal experience either way:blah:.

It has to come out at a pretty severe angle. But it will come out.

Also, as far as taking it out the bottom, will there be any problems with the wheel alignment after everythings been out and in again?

If you don't loosen the a-arm bolts, you should be fine.

Some input or pictures, instructions on how to take an ls1 out through the top would be greatly appriected. I'm in the same boat, im pulling my engine to put in a 02 engine. I also read that you could pull the engine and trans together as a unit from the top, anyone else heard anything similar.
