I'm interested in getting some new headers for my 1996 z28 camaro. I need dual cats and ceramic coated. So far the only people I have found that carry these are BBK and Edelbrock. Does anyone else have any opinions on any other ones I could look into?

If you absolutely have to have emissions (cats) shorty headers are the way to go. If I had my choice of shorty's, I would get the SLP headers. They are all stainless steel, and the primary tubes are 1 3/4" compared to the dinky 1 5/8" that the rest have. The only drawback is that they use the factory y pipe, which is good because they keep the cats, but it's bad because with an off-road y pipe, you could flow a lot more exhaust.

im not looking for the 1 3/4, id rather have the 1 5/8. the 1 3/4 is more for horsepower not torque. Thanks for the help though

When dealing with shorty headers, you will gain hp and torque both. Sure, your powerband may be shifted up in the rpm range a bit, but not so much that you'll notice it off a dyno (with the stock heads/cam anyway, but that's a totally different ball game).
People told me that putting long tubes on my car would kill low end torque, and only make top end power. They kept telling me that shorties were the way to go. Of course I ignored them, because they had no solid proof to back up their claims. I'm glad I did. My car with the long tubes is so much more powerful all across the powerband it's incredible.
In fact, I have a friend with a 93 Z that has the 1 3/4 SLP shorties on his car (they were on it when he bought it). After riding in my car and seeing how much power I gained (low torque and high hp) he's ready to place an order for long tubes himself.
