long rubber piece for slp cai??

Where does the long rubber tube thing go? I installed my SLP CAI the other day and didn't use it cause I didnt know where to put it, and the directions i had didn't mention it

Are you talking about when installing an aftermarket lid, and what to do with the small hose that attaches to the factory airbox?? If that's what you're talking about, when I installed my "Direct-Flo" lid, it cam with a small filter that goes into the end of that tube, and you just have to tie it off somewhere so it doesn't flop around. That tube (I think??) goes to the air pump.

nah not a lid, a cold air induction...

The long rubber piece seals off the open slot in the front of the airbox, where the air came in before the CAI install. If it's not sealed you won't get optimal results from the CAI.

Damn, I don't really understand what you're talking about, maybe you can send a picture or some one else can explain it better?

Check my webpage in the sig. The third pic from the bottom is an underhood shot and you can see the airbox with the rubber strip attached in front. It slips over a lip there and closes off the opening to the airbox. I don't know how else to explain it, but I'll try ;)

How do you like it? How much SOTP increase did it give you? Does anyone have any Dyno results from the SLP CAI? How about the sound? Any information would be appreciated. I am planning on doing the CAI and the lid very soon.

The lid and CAI are "must do" mods. You won't be disappointed.

I think it's on correcty.. I cut out the thin air shield thing liek it said, and slid down the metal CAI piece, then screwed it down to the base of my car, the opening is right under the air filter, then it goes all the way down adjacent the radiator, and hangs down toward the ground.... i don't see how this improves air flow.. don't really get how it works.

the theory is that it makes the air more accessible than it was from stock.. also, air traveling towards the front of the car at say 70MPH is forced into the opening... thus raming the air in.

not too bad.

But I would rather have a full ramair like the FTRA or the plastic version.
