Exclamation Gas Pedal Fell Off

My gas petal fell off and I can't figure out how to put the thing back on. I have the bolt, spring, and plastic petal but i can't figure it out. Can anyone help? If this does not work, is there some good petals out there that I could get? Thanks

There's not much to it as I remember. A pivot pin with a clip to hold it in place, the pedal and the metal rod that the pedal attaches to. If you have all the pieces it should be pretty obvious how it goes back together unless the peadl actually broke.

What kind of clip? The thing that i have is more like a spring. There seems to be no obvious place for the spring to go. Through the pin and connect to petal somehow?
Thanks for the reply.

Here's what I could tell from looking at mine:
There is a pin with a nail like head. It runs through a hole in the pedal, then through the spring then through the metal throttle linkage then through the second hole in the pedal. The spring is fitted so the top of the pedal is pushed toward the rear of the car. The L shaped bend on the spring fits upward and across the metal rod and the straight arm on the spring goes upward and pushes on the back of the pedal. The big flat end of the pin is toward the center of the car.
There is no clip. The clip that I was thinking of is on the linkage pivot pin.
Generally aftermarket pedals are just covers that you screw onto the stock pedal so you will need to fix it.

Thanks for the advice guys! I finally got the stock petal back on, however, it took me 20 min of trying to get the pin through all holes before it finally fell into place. Then I zip-tied the spring on so it won't come off again. Hopefully.

I was laughing my azz off at the title of this thread ...

Just find a paddle off of a game steering wheel...do some research and make a paddle gas and brake and hook it on your steering wheel....then you can just relax
