How to replace rear pads?

Does anyone have step by step instructions for replacing my rear brake pads.

I have a 3/8 hex drive for my breaker bar to remove the caliper, do the pads then just slide in or what?

I haven't seen a step by step tutorial except for the LS1 cars, and even then it was shotty in the rear area. I assume (from your sig) you have a LT1 car. If so, the pads are easy to change, cute-like even!! The caliper just opens up and the wee things pop out, they can be a pain to get re-fitted in the slots though. Basically the same method as the front, and only a tad bit different. Doesn't anyone own a haynes or chilton's manual around here? Maybe Xride and I should make a How-to about this after we do the lowering spring version. My rear end is brand new and torn down, I could do it.

Might have to put that on the to do list... but my brakes are brand new still?

So are mine, and that's good because of the more detail it allows. I did the drum to disc swap too. I have tons of available info, but no digital camera. (only advantix based 35mm) But I can still do it. I have most of the spring text done, and I'll pm/mail it to you when I get it done.

ok sounds good, I'll do it up pretty in HTML and host it.

Since you can HTML it, why don't we scan the haynes manual pages for a brake FAQ? I see tons of questions in here that could be answered by linking them to the scanned pages. Even better if they were in PDF format. ;)

I dont have the manual right now, but if you scan it in and email it to me.

Done, I have a "paid for" copy of Adobe. I'll see if I can get my scanner up and running. ;)
