Man, wish I had a little bit of money right now.
I went into the independent dealer I bought my car from the other day, to complain about the clear coat peeling off of my nose (it was in a fender bender before i got it and the nose was replaced by the dealer). So the guy there says he knows what I'm talking about, and that a lot of the cars they had outsourced to get painted were turning out to be real POS jobs.
So he said he'd had enough of it and to see my nice Camaro (former Camaro owner himself) peeling, was the last straw. So he took my name and number and said he'd give me a call about what he finds out.
He calls me this morning, and tells me they're going to pay another guy in town (with a great reputation) to paint my nose, hood, front fenders and driver's door. This makes me very happy of course.
So I wish I had a little money now, so I could buy an aftermarket hood and have the other guy paint that instead of the stocker. Anyone want to give a fellow F-body owner a loan for about a month till i have the money?
That really is cool of the dealer to help me out though, he was a helpful guy when I bought the car, and now he's doing this for me, good guy. There are good used car dealers out there!

why don't you just tell them you have a new hood coming in, but you don't know when it will be there. Ask them if they can paint everything but your hood, and when the new one comes in, you'll bring it down there and they can do it seperately...
