New Camaro at Detriot in 2005

Here is just my personal opinion, not in any way factual.:rolleyes:

GM will roll out a new Camaro concept next year at Detriot:D
Expect to see a production version that looks similar to the concept in 1-2 years, maybe when they redo the GTO.

GM is not going to sit on their a**es and watch Ford rake in piles of dough with their new/old mustang(yes it will sell like crazy)

Hopefully I am right, and feel free to blast me with any REAL facts that you do have.

Its my opinion that Al Gore won the last election... :blah:

Sorry dude, if we see a concept next year at Detroit thats going to be Chevrolets new performance RWD coupe, its not going to have the Camaro badge on it. We have to wait for the 2005 negotiations.

No Camaro on display in 2005 unless it's going to come out that year.

GM is showing it's new cars months before they come out (ie: LaCross, Colbalt, C6, etc...), so I'd say it will go on display in 2006.

Not automatically in Detroit either. New York & Chicago are also great debut shows.

Also, don't forget, the 1st PUBLIC display of the new Corvette happened in the Los Angeles show, though the press saw it in Detroit a few days earlier. ;)

The production Solstice was shown this year and it is a 2006 model year, couldnt Camaro follow that same path?

thank you, perfect example.

But if the Camaro is going to be released as an MY07 car, then why not show a concept version of the Camaro in 05, then a production ready Camaro in 06, and by mid 06 the car hits the streets. Ford did the same thing with teh Mustang. It brought out that 2 seater supercharged GT, then a year later brought out its production version, even though the production version was already set and designed. I think its very possible.

The production Solstice was shown just 1 year before it debuts (the 2006 model year starts this coming January, 2005), so IF a new Camaro was in the cards for early 2006 as a 2007, then this would be a great possibility.

But, Buick's Park Avenue replacement is going to be the 1st Zeta based car, and last word is it's going into production for the 2007 model year, or sometime during 2006.

The new GTO isn't coming out till 2008, meaning sometime during 2007, and Chevrolet's coupe (just my own guess) is coming out sometime between them. And you probally most likely won't see a "concept" of the car before it's introduced, though I'd put money on a Colbalt or SSR type drawing released by GM before the actual unveiling.

I'd be very very surprised if next year's auto show season is where Chevy's coupe is displayed.
