Went To Track This Weekend: Another Unbelievable ET From The 3.5....

Went to local track this weekend. Left speaker box (2 12s) and spare tire at home. 1/2 tank of gas. First two runs I had MAJOR traction problems spinning all the way through 1st resulting in almost 2.4 60fts!! BUT, I was running the same ETs that I did last week with 2.2 60s at MIR. So I knew if I could hook up I would get a good run. And finally it happend on the 3rd run. I dropped psi in the tires from 40 to about 27 and WOW....

1st-

60FT 2.37

1/8 9.47 @ 77.35

1/4 14.56 @ 96.34

2nd-

60FT 2.35

1/8 9.42 @ 77.83

1/4 14.49 @ 96.86

3rd-

60FT 2.13

1/8 9.17 @ 78.22

1/4 14.25 @ 96.28

Needless to say, I was stoked on that last run I fully believe that with CAI and catback I could be looking at 13.9Xs.

Kills were first a 99+ GT 5spd with at least a cat-back/DRs, don't know what else. He ran a 15.17 @ 100.00 with a 2.70 60ft to my second run. Second a newer BMW M5 5spd with at least some exhaust, don't know what else. He ran a 17.61 @ 76.86 with a 2.43 60ft against my last run.

Death was a friend of mine with a lightly modded 2K SS A4. He normally runs low 12s on DRs. He ran a 12.51 @ 107.73 with a 1.71 60ft against my first run. It was a nice death though getting to see a beautiful SS go by me

Yup. The 3.5 in my car is detuned, but basically the same engine. Mine is "rated" at 245hp with like 250lbs, the 350Z is rated at 287hp with around 265lbs (I think) or so. A good 350Z diver can get high 13s out of one...

nothing surprising there, with a 2.0 60' you should be close to a 14 flat.A CAI should give you a lil gain but Im not sure if putting a catback on a car like an altima is the coolest thing to do IMO.

Good runs. Aren't the G35's engines also the same as your car and the 350,s?

i believe the heads and the shortblock are the same on the Altima and the G35 and 350Z but the other "breathing" parts arent. That trap speed indicates youre making about 250HP

More like "water coated tires". He, like many other either idiots, or poeple not in the know, went through the water box before his burn out. His tires were prolly still wet when he staged...

Actually, I think I'm going to do the "keep the Altima until late this year when the SER Alty comes out" mod 265+hp with a 6sp should be good for solid 13s stock, not to mention a great starting point for mods...
