COMNBYU 02-23-2004, 04:20 PM Not much to "woo" and "woe" over considering that I'm posting this on a website where you're not even noticed unless you're putting out 400rwp, but I'm mainly trying to prove a point.
I found these #s on a website earlier today. NOTE- all #s are WHEEL hp and PEAK hp...
CAI- 13hp
Exhaust- 20hp
Pulley- 6.5hp
Headers/Y-pipe- 17hp
Cams- 20hp
Although I'm pretty ashamed of the cams increase in hp, my point was that 300 FLYwheel hp is attainable with basic bolt-ons.
With the cams, well over 300 flywheel hp is possible, without, right around 300 should be no problem.
I'm also a little disturbed from their ETs with all of the mods. Their best run was a 14.1 @ 100. That's pretty horrible considering I've heard of guys running as fast as 14.2 @ 95ish bone stock, and have SEEN timeslips of consistant 14.4-.5s @ 95 stock.
Anyhoo, check out the site if you're so inclined...

Your #s are a little off for peak hp. I just checked out the link. Car has a manual transmission. 201 whp stock. 247 whp with full exhaust, pulley, and cai. 260 whp for full exhaust, pulley, cai, and cams. A very far cry from the 300+ whp that "heavy" claimed for full exhaust, cai and tuning. That must be some very serious "tuning"! The thing makes about 306 flywheel hp if you assume the standard 15% loss through the driveline. Very impressive gains for such small mods!
What does that thing weigh? It should be running low 13s at 104.xx with 260 whp IF it has a 3450 lbs. race weight. This is also assuming sticky tires and good gearing.

You missed the heated debate we (Jon, Heavy, me, and others) had about this topic a while back. Jon is providing details to back up his arguement.

Not to blow the parade but an RSX Type S with a hondata reflash, intake, Toda Header and a set of SMALL Toda's put down 230whp stock is 170 whp....60whp from a 2.0L with the same mods
Still good power from a family car though :D

Are you serious? What are the small toda's? What kind of intake? Do you have a link to support these #s? That is incredible. My car when stock put out about 230 rwhp. Now we have a 2.0 liter engine putting out the same n/a? Also, a modded 3.5 liter is only putting out 30 more whp? This seems far fetched.

From my best guesstimate I'd say 260whp and 3450 lbs would be more like 13.7-13.8 at around 101.5

I'll try to find the link but basically the Toda A's are the mild street......Toda B's and Toda C's are available....so far 280whp has been made on street/strip cams and 13:1 compression with the new K20a2.....
Intake was AEM, Toda Header, Hondata reflash and Toda A's
Pretty sick gains 50-60+whp from the basics on a 2.0L lol
http://www.todaracing.com/products/honda_k20a/camshafts.html Heres a link to TODA

So they are getting 280 whp out of a 2.0 liter n/a motor? Amazing! My car should be making 644 rwhp to be equal! A 5.7 liter Chevy motor needs to make 798 rwhp n/a!
PNYKILR 02-25-2004, 01:14 AM um ok:confused:
juiced_lt1 02-25-2004, 01:30 AM Yes steve, a 2.0L can put down 280hp. The new yamaha R1 puts down 180hp N.A. A boosted 1.3L hayabusa can put down 500rwhp safely(www.superkaos.com). You need to stop calling BS on every post and realize that just because your car doesn't do that doesn't mean that another car/bike/motor can't.

the bike engines do that with considerably more rpm, though. personally, i think that the bike figures are over-inflated. most of the motors come in on the rw dyno (a dynojet, anyways) at about 85% of their rated countershaft hp. 15% loss is a bunch considering it has just a chain and a relatively lightweight wheel/tire combo. don't m6 f-bodies only loose 15-18%? and the bike's countershaft hp comes AFTER the transmission.

280whp is the street/strip setup
Strip only they are 330-340whp at 10,500 rpm and 15:1 comp  Should see low 9's/high 8's all motor soon with 4cyls
