3.23 to 3.73 gears what else

A4 3.23 to 3.73 gears. What else do I need to do besides get the speedometer adjusted? I heard something about needing to change the shift points? IF so, what would I need to set the shift points get at?

The shift points will probably need to be backed down a few mph for the 1-2 shift and also the 2-3. When i had my old auto. car i did it as a trial and error thing. Jus kept taking away mph with lt1_edit till i didnt bounce off the revlimiter anymore.

SO when you say a few MPH you mean like 2-3 mph? I heard if I sent my PCM to pcmforless and had them do it they would get it right. That true?

The fit was ok, but wasnt the best. I had to shorten two of the straight pieces about an inch in order to get it in and together. It comes in pieces with band clamps to hold it all together. Once i got it in i took it to an exhaust shop and had them weld it together, They also adjusted it a little bit so it fit up snug against the bottom of the car.

I would buy it again, i think it was worth the money.

Well to answer your question about the hypertech, the reason I use the hypertech is turning on the fans early and also reprogram my car for the gears. If I had to do it again I should of just got my car programmed by a buddy of my or PCMFORLESS or MADWOLF. So I would hold off in buying that and just geting some mail order tune.

So how you liking them new gears? Tell me what you have noticed so I can get some ideas. I was thinking of going 3.73's as well since a cousin of mine is doing a buildup and is convincing me to do the same gear ratio but I wanted to peek in here first to get some feedback. Thanks...

Nothing against hypertech but I think that a madwolf tune is far better for less money. He can adjust for gears and turn your fans on too.

Spend the $150 and get a pcmforless.com tune. A hypertech won't give you any hp, if anything it will hurt a little. Think of it as a $150 fan switch...
