allmotorta 07-15-2002, 02:40 AM It comes in a spray-paint can. It says it's good for: upholstery, carpet, door panels, seat trim, dashboards, and more. I'm converting my interior from dark gray to black. I want to use this on my carpet and maybe my dash and the material on my door panels.
By the way: So far I've painted most of the plastic semi-gloss black and it looks damn good http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif I've followed a few guides on here, this appearance section is cool. If you get a chance, check out the ride in my sig......

Central PA Z 07-15-2002, 07:11 AM I changed my whole interior from the stock light / dark gray trim to all black, (with the exception of my seats, which I changed the inner part to red). Anyway....I used VHT Color Dye. I did a write up on my site on page 14 if your interested. Pictures included.

</font>Actually, this is the guide I used http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif I didn't want to order the VHT and wait for it to get here and nobody around here carries it, so I bought the dupli-color stuff from my neighborhood parts store. I'll try it where no one can see it and if it looks good I'll keep using it, if not I'll go get the VHT stuff. Thanks for the info bro!

nikkev 07-18-2002, 09:13 PM Check the sig.Dupli-color black upholstery dye from Wal-mart.Plus a little bowtie decal from Autozone to add definition.I simply taped the middle, stuck the decal on the headrest, painted, and then removed the tape and the decal.Really easy.

Kevin, yours turned out pretty nice. So you used the Dupli-Color instead of the VHT stuff I used?? Did you have to vaccum the seats after they dried?? I had very small little balls of dye that cought on the fabric that had to be removed with the bristle brush on the vaccum cleaner. Maybe it's just my seats. Anyway.....looks good!!

Nope,I didn't have anything on my seats after I was done.I did vaccum the seats before I dyed them though. The thing that sucks though is that the seats now show every single little piece of lint and string.God only knows why I picked black http://web.camaross.com/bb/eek.gif http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif
