upgrading 3-speaker to 5-speaker?

What would this require? I read in another thread from awhile ago that you need to replace the whole system, because in the 94's there was no option for a 5-speaker setup. I have a bose 3 speaker system in my 94z.

I strongly dislike the look of aftermarket stereos in the dash, what would be my best move?
-go with a 95 or 96 system that already has 5 speakers
-attempt to throw in a newer system (97-up)

If im not mistaken, dont the 98 and newer systems have somewhere near 10 speakers? Woudl I be able to use that head unit with just 5 speakers? I like how those look compared to the one in my 94. Also I've read that the 93-96 head units are slightly larger than other years.

Sorry for the long post, but any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: nevermind, I dont really like how the newer ones look that much

I to have a 94 z28 with the 3 bose speakers and head unit. I bought two 3-way pioneers for the rear and a sony head unit to run the speakers off of because there is only the one small amp powering the litte speaker in the trunk. Im also going to put a 10 disc changer in the trunk, and soon buy a new sub for the trunk and amp the pioneers.
