Ford announced it's net earnings today...I don't remember the exact figure, but it's about 395 million. That compares to a greater than 900 million loss last year. In comparison, GM's net profit was 3.2 billion. Most of that was from GMAC.

 

Good news. They've still got ways to go though. Hopefully the upcoming models will give both Ford and GM the much needed sales boost in the car department.

 

All I gotta say is thank God for GMAC! If I remember right they're net profit was 2.8 billion. Up from 1.9 billion last year! They're really carrying the company.

 

2.8 out of 3.2 from GMAC??. Thank god indeed. So would the net profits for the automobile division be about 400mill?

Do you have Toyota's numbers by chance ?? Even dinky Honda probably posts higher net profits than the big 2. Heavy incentives can't be helping.

 

Haven't looked up Toyota's #'s. But GM's profit reports were a mixed bag. GMNA did good! If I remember right they made over a billion. Hughes lost almost 1/4 billion. Asia did good.

 

I thought GM sold Hughes already?

 

Doesn't Ford have something similar to GMAC? and Toyota?
