Has anyone succesfully rebuilt a 4L60E??

Besides transmission guys, has any home mechanics succesfully rebuilt a 4L60E transmission? and have it last? just wondering the success rate, if you will... thanks guys!

ive done a few 700r4's one before i went to tech school a few dozen since. those special tools that it lists in the manuals....the ones no one thinks they need, are worth their weight in gold.

I rebuilt mine, it was my first trans. too. I just took my time and made sure everything was happy. I built my own spring compressors, but the right tools would have made a hell of a difference. The ATSG manual is very helpful, if you actually read it.

hey john, did you have the video for rebuilding it? did you need to buy/rent any special tools at all? also i would like to talk to you later about fabricating some of the tools so i dont need to buy any if possible, ill PM you later or you can post again or PM me, thanks!
