Need help-Car won't go closed loop

The car is a 95 TransAm, There is only one code in computer, code 11, MIL malfunction idicator lamp. Check the program and all seems well, the car is meeting the temps in Constant's table to go closed loop.
About the car. stock bottem end, LT4 Hot cam kit, Hooker long tubes, true duel exhaust, the car is an A4.

If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate some help. I can e-mail the bin file to look at.

how do you know it wont go into closed loop?

I have datamaster & freescan and and it say's it's staying in open loop. I'm very familiar with datalogging and pretty familar with OBD1 programming, but this one has me stummped.

I have datamaster if you want a 2nd opinion on the file and Id take a look at the .bin too.

If you have an error code in the PCM, why don't you pursue it and get a diagnostic chart and find out what's causing that code? Maybe without that MIL circuit working, the car won't go into closed loop...

My 95z does go into closed loop when the SES light is on. I have driven my car with the MAF disconected and logged the results.

Whats a MIL? is the same as the SES light?

And the mil/ses light can come for many, many different reasons--some of which can prevent the car from going into closed loop. I'm not sure if code 11 is one of them or not.

For example, if you disconnect the MAF, the car will run in speed/density mode, set the SES/MIL light, but still go into closed loop. If you disconnect the O2 sensors, the car will also set the light, but not go into closed loop--it all depends on why the light is on.

I think MIL is a malfunction with SES? Does the SES light come on?... my guess is no.

Not sure what SES is, does a 95 Trans Am have SES.

They're both the same thing just different names as I said two posts ago:

SES stands for "Servince Engine Soon,"
and MIL stands for "Malfunction Indicator Lamp"

All it is, is a way for the car's PCM or ECM to communicate with the driver to let them know there is an error. This is also the same as a "check engine" light. Their sole purpose is to let the driver of the vehicle know that there is something wrong with the PCM, and needs to be diagnosed.

There is no "ses" light shown. So I think the SES and MIL codes are different.

As far as I know, they're all the same thing, just different auto companies have different names for it, as may OBDI and OBDII, I'm not sure.

The whole point of this post was that there's a code in the computer, and it won't go into closed loop. Find the problem to the code and pursue it from there. If you can get rid of the code, and the computer still doesn't go into closed loop, then at least you are starting from a fresh point to troubleshoot from.

DTC or code 11 - SES lamp circuit

What that tells me is that there is a problem with the "SES" indicator light. Now, if there is a problem with the link between you and the PCM then I could see the PCM not allowing the car to go into closed loop incase theres a problem with another sensor b/c youd never know it. As far as a solution... maybe you blew a fuse.

Ok, lets go back to the start. 95 Trans Am, The service engine soon light works when the key is first turned on. It is not coming on when the car is running and to my knowledge, it never has. I have good comunication with the PC during Datalogging and programming. When I Datalog, I get a DTC and when I replay, the only code coming up is 11, and according to the book, it's a (MIL) which is Malfunctioning indicator light. All the dash lights are working (blinkers, SES, brake, bright lights, low fluid etc.)

Two things that will keep a car from going CL would be if you unpluged either the carcoal canister pruge silonid or the egr controil silonid.

The other thing that would do this is if you never get above 150 degrees F or if some one programed this setpoint to the max value your going to stay open loop.
