First time track. 13.544 @ 104.87 mph

well it was my first time, well tachnicly 2nd (doh), but clutch was toasted first time, so dont wanna count it :D

ran 6 times in 4 hrs... 14.8 14.5 14.1 13.8 13.7 13.5


was all in the launch, had 2.1 60' in the 13 second once, the 14s were 2.3-2.8 60' messed up launch, got it down pat now... :D

clutch slips a lil(stock clutch with 63k on odo) gripss pretty good still.. pulled a 2.1 with nitto 555r (245/50/16) i think thats good....

i think i could have gotten a tiny lower if i kept at it.. was getting better and better on my best one, i didnt have a perfect launch, but was still very good(for me) with a 2.102 60' .074 r/t

i launch at 2500 now.. 3000 was slipping to much...

I agree, having a good time all depends on the launch. My first time at the track I got a best of 14.0@102 with a 2.3 sec. 60'. I had a bad brake booster and was edgy about launching at like 1,500 RPM, so I just took off like I was at a stoplight. I think with a 102 mph trap speed, I can definitely break into the mid and maybe low 13s with a lower 60' time.

seems like good driving,congradulations. What were weather conditions like?is there ANY elevation there? Some people might say that 60' time still sucks but its all in the track prep,sounds like good driving to me though (ive been to the track when 2.2 would be a GOOD launch). MPH is 1-2 MPH low but that could be elevation or not shifting at optimal points (what u shift at) but still 13.5@104 is a very respectable time. :cool:

for you to run 13.2@102 you would need something like a 1.9 60' time which i would say CAN be extremely difficult on street tires unless the track is prepped perfectly.With a 2.1 60' u can expect to be somewhere around 13.6's. Traction has to do with the track as much as it has to do with tires.

i just saw the .87 on the MPH. Thats basically 105 which falls perfectly in the range of stock LS1's. my bad

Good times...the car definitely has a little more to sqeeze out of it. On a good well prepped track you can pull a 1.9XX 60' on street tires. That should bring you down another tenth or two. How is your shifting? Get that clutch replaced and you'll drop some time as well. I was stuck at 13.3 until i replaced my slipping clutch. My next time at the track after the new clutch install I was in the 12's on my first run.

yea, i def neeeeed a new clutch, prob going to get a centerforce one... its a lil under 400 i htink, im opened minded though on the clutch,i just want the best for the buck.. (in the 400 $$$ range)

and i have nitto555r i did a SMALL(wouldnt even call it a burnout) on my first run, when i do my burnout... the clutch dies... after the first spining, i just did smal chrips to clean off the tires... heh, besides the 13.5 i ran a 13.7 and 13.8 was against a stang, and a 3rd gen eclipse, spanked em both 8'] they were in the 15s but... when i did the 13.5 i was with a transam, he ran 13.1 @ 105.01 which, mph wise we were very close, he just got a 1.9 60' where i got a 2.1 he had a relativly new clutch, and 275 nittos so im pretty sure thats how he got me, he didnt say he had rly any mods... ill just save up for clutch, and ill post again later 8'] cyas

hey DanBUCF what was your 60' time for your run in the sig?im guessing somewhere in the LOW 2.0x or high 1.9x. just wonderin.

Nittos like to be hot and sticky.

Cook em and go for a 1.9

My 2.73 auto goes 2.0 all day on nittos or street tires, can't really break them loose :think:

im shifting as close to red line as i can, normally 5900 - 6000 , although someone told me the tach is slow in reading true rpm so not sure...

btw someone told me to NOT go in the water pit with nittos.. do i just go around and spin them, or should i go in pit then spin till hear squeek. i havnt been going in pit. but im afraid to burn em b/c my clutch burns up to fast(need a new one) give me some tips!

robvas, your 2.0 60' times are greatly helped by the track. We have Sears Point raceway and Sacramento and anybody whos been to Sears on a Wednesday (F.U.N Drags) youd know traction is somethin thats hard to come by.

Try shiftin shifting @ 5700RPM or so

get those 60's where they belong and your times will be lookin good

Ran My TA with a 2.4 60ft , a really bad slipping clutch and a HORRIBLE intake leak and ran a 13.8@103.8 :( I fixed the intake leak " huge huge difference " and got a dual friction clutch on the way :D Your times are pretty good , get a new clutch and some more heat on them tires and youll hit a low 13 :cool: My clutch slipped so bad when I ran my car , that the second run , it stopped moving for like 9 seconds , I had to coast and let it cool . They got to much power for the stock clutch . WHen I ran the 13.8 , the car wasnt idling barely and slipped in first and second ...BTW gorgeous car man :bow: " specially the color " :cool:

I'd go with the SPEC stage III clutch like I did. I got the entire clutch set up with a new flywheel for just over $500. For the money, nothing out there will out perform it. If you can deal with some clutch chatter for the first 500 miles or so, you'll come to love that clutch.

I remember the first time I was at the track with that clutch, I chirped 4th gear and nearly crapped myself. The clutch bites like a bastard, so shift hard and hold on.

Yeah, its some sick # like that. Look at it this way...the clutch is complete overkill for your car, but you don't really need to every worry about upgrading to something stronger.

As for how many miles its rated for...not really sure. I have about 10,000 abusive miles on mine so far and its still grabbing like a champ.
