PSU 98 06-15-2002, 01:00 AM I've been in touch with Maple Grove Raceway about hosting a fall F-Body event. Although they're pretty well booked for this season, they've suggested that we could be worked in with a test-n-tune day on Saturday September 28, 2002. Cost to run will be $20. I've invited the MAFBA, CJC/FO, and the SLFBA, and am extending an open invitation to everyone here in the East. Three months out and the response thus far has been good; I don't think seeing 40-50 F-Cars would be out of the question! Maple Grove has suggested that we could possibly turn this into a stand-alone event for 2003, so a big F-Body showing wouldn't hurt our chances. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend!

Mr. George Case, whom I spoke with from Maple Grove, has been really helpful. With all the import events at the Grove lately, it'll be great to showcase some American muscle! Keep spreading the word!

Ron, there is a "Trophy" class run at the Grove. Win a second round and you get a 1" trophy. Runner up gets a 3" and winner gets a 4". This is for "street" cars running 12.0 and slower. I won this class twice this year (back to back weekends)so I won't in it for the duration of the season. Maple has a two win and out rule for this class.

kazman 06-18-2002, 11:11 AM PSU 98, is there going to be a seperate class for the F-bodies or do we just sign up for the regular classes (Trophy, Street, or Heavy)? From the $20 entry fee it sounds like the Trohpy class. I just replied to Ron's post and realized that technically I'm not suppost to run in Trophy anymore. I don't know how strict they enforce that rule. On another note it might be a good day to run street or heavy. The top 6 street cars and the top 17 heavy cars will be at Cecil that day.

At SLP day I was still running 14.2's so I "qualify" on being slow enough. I'm thinking of attempting the throttle body bypass mod next....
The Grove is like an little over an hour and a half, so any events there I can easily attend.

PSU 98 06-19-2002, 10:58 PM Yep, September 28 is a regular test-n-tune day. We (F-Bodies) will not be there exclusively, but Maple Grove has suggested that we could have our own lanes. Plus, if this event goes over well, there is the possibility that next year this could become a stand-alone all F-Body event http://web.camaross.com/bb/cool.gif
Anthony, if you run once you'll be hooked. I can't wait to get back to the track. However, if anyone just wants to show, Maple Grove has enough parking for everyone to just hang out. I believe the spectator fee is slightly less also.
