Mallory ignition

I am having trouble finding much info on using a Mallory ignition on an Lt1 car. I want the one with a single stage spark retard, a window switch and a rev limiter built in. Is that the HiFire VI? Does anyone use this? Did it cause any problems? Also, will the MSD wiring harness make this a plug and play for my '95 z28?

I posted this here because this seems like a very N2O oriented igntions (thats what I will use it for).

Thanks for the help

Dustin

And yes it is plug and play with an MSD harness, my old ignition was an MSD before changing to the Mallory.

That is good to hear. This ignition seems like a much better deal than an MSD and the 2 or 3 seperate boxes you would need with it. Why don't more people use it?

It's a MUCH better deal. Not only can you do everything with one box but it functions better too. Everything is digital, no stupid pills for the window switch.

I think it's not too widely used because it's new. The 685 was just released this year. It's getting much more popular as the word gets out, I know they were backordered everywhere not too long ago.

I sold my old MSD for $75 so this was a cheap upgrade

Got one too. It burnt up after about 9 months but they fixed it no problem. I must have it wired wrong because it still draws power and kills my batt if I don't crank my car for about a week. But I would recommend it, it will do a lot of things. Alan
