700R4, highway RPMS a tad high :/

I have an 87 Z28, 700R4. So im sure that im getting all 4 gears, its just that..well for example, when im doing 70mph on the highway its close to 3500RPMS. I can still accelerate just fine so its not slipping or anything....shouldnt the RPMS be a tad lower? As you can see i have no idea about transmissions whatsoever so please help

what rear end gears do you have???

also are you sure your speedo or tach is accurate-

w/ 2.73's i run about 1750@70mph-
w/ 3.42's i run about 2200@70mph-
w/ 3.73's i run about 2400@70mph-

it might be that high if you have 4.56's,- maybe.
but recheck your speedo gears in your tranny. has this problem just happened or has it allways happened-
