prestone coolantTXZ28LS1 10-20-2003, 11:31 AM can we use this regular prestone coolant for a 2000 Z. cuz on the owners manual it says we need the one with dex something i think. and i couldnt see it on the prestone coolant, so i was thinking we probably cant use it. is there something else you guys recommend? dave1w41 10-20-2003, 11:48 AM Use only Dex-Cool in the LS1 engine. You can get it at any auto parts store. Greed4Speed 10-20-2003, 01:10 PM Actually, you can mix the 2, they are both ethelyneglycol based. The Dexcool as extra lubes and corrosion inhibitors. Mixing the 2 will make the Dexcool not last as long, but I wouldn't go anywhere near the recommended life of the stuff. I doesn't cool very well onve you get near 100k miles. From what I was told at a Chevy dealer, mixing orange and green coolants will create a sludge. | ||
