Post TB Plate? Who makes one that works well with the NX kit.

I was wanting to switch to a plate, but I just wanted to make sure it will work as well as my Shark Nozzle, and work with the same pill settings. Thanks

NOS, and Nitrous Works both make TPI/LT1 Style plates.

Best to keep your Shark Nozzle though. Guys have picked up SEVERAL tenths just changing to a Shark nozzle from the above mentioned plates.

What about making something similar to the TNT set-up. I already have the NX kit but I was thinking of making a plate to go in front of the throttle body to put the Shark nozzle in. I was going to use a piece of half inch aluminum and drill and tap a hole for my nozzle. What do you think....worth the time or not?

do you have anything to back that up? i find it interesting. I have a plate now and never figured it was hurting. then again i never tested the 2 back to back

Matt,

Shoot Dirk (aka RacinLT1) an email :racinlt1@aol.com

He picked up several tenths changing from a I believe a Nitrous Works to Nitrous Express Front end only (Nozzle and Jets). Its really a very easy swap, as all you should need would be the nozzle itself, and possibly some jets (NOS jets will interchange into an NX Nozzle, though I'd recommend using the NX Jet pattern)

The other thing to note is that I didn't mention the TNT plate, as it can not easily be adapted to an NX system (as the original question asked). Seems there are sme guys doing well with the TNT plates, though I'd like to caution those looking at them, that the TNT jet patterns pound for pound use more nitrous and less fuel then a comparable Nitrous Express system (Based on Jet Surface area).

Matt, also do not take this as bagging on your setup, but I notice you've *only* picked up 7 mph on a 100hp system. What system are you using? Was there a track/air variation between your NA and Spray runs listed? I only ask, because most often you can pickup about 9-10, and even as much as 12mph (In a slower car usually).

Im only guessing here

If he ran a 12.1 in an M6, he was probably on slicks which would cause a lower trap speed. Otherwise, it could be anything like bottle pressure, air temp, track...

the 13.0 and the 12.1 were different days...same tire and yes it was a slick @10psi. the day I went 113 on the 100 shot I believe my best motor mph was 104. when i ran that I was using a NX kit with sharker nozzle. since then i changed over to a NW plate.

thanks for the input. i will take all the help i can get.

I am swithing over to new solenoids made by www.MOXIERACING.com they are supposed to flow 30% more. I may also get my hands on a TNT plate. I still have my sharker and may try in out. I will keep everyone posted on the new solenoids.

any other suggestions to maxize my system?

NX offers a plate for your car. Its actually a MAF sensor, and has 2 shark nozzles machined into the center of it. It is worth alot more then just 150hp, and is a little expensive, but a very good design.

Most guys have not recommended the MAF plates for guys using a Typical cold air induction system on an F-Body, except for those with the straight shot WS6/Firehawk/LS1 style inductions... Any of that deal with Nitrous Express can handle this for you.

That plate works great on stock camaros and firebirds. There is no reason not to use it. Its just a little more then most people want to get, but its well worth it. We dynoed a few cars, with both the fresh air and the standard induction, and they both performed very well. No more HP then the standard nozzle, but you have to realize they were both jetted on 150hp, and both exceeded that number! If you are really serious about nitrous, and want a very clean install, that plate is the ticket.
