Just when you thought Aztek had no future...

How's this for an Aztek we could all live with...

that is definately bad a**!!! I'm still not quite sure why they just gave up on it. it's be out for a couple of years, yes selling poorly, and all they have done is removed the plastic clading. yet you have Buick and Chevy's, and saturn version coming out, and buick and Saturn is doing pretty decent, (havent looked at production numbers to state specificaly). I just don't know wht they didn't just have a suttle redesign and hope a better design would be better.

although, maybe with too many brands selling a version they were afraid of too much overlap and desided just to end production

Thumbs down

It's still an Aztek and nothings going to change that...

Putting a lot of hp under the hood and modifications here and there will still not make it any better...

Whoooa !!

Now THAT'S enough to shut me up about Aztec! If GM made an Aztec that simply looked like that, even if it had only a 3rd the horsepower, it would likely bump the H2's picture out from under the word "Testosterone" in the dictionary.

But just as the article mentioned, why in the world did GM (Bob Lutz is named directly) spend the cash to make such a thing for a vehicle that's dying shortly? I think the money would have been better spent certifying a supercharged Sunfire or a special supercharged send-off edition of the Grand Am.

Then again, I don't get paid the big bucks to be a GM product chairman either.

even without that performance , i bet that would have sold a lot if the aztek looked like that to begin with! Looks nice!

Don't know how that would silence the critics .... this one says why didn't they use the time and money wasted on that to speed up development of the Trailblazer SS or something similar that has a chance of seeing production.

What they should do though is grab all the good ideas on the Aztec, and there are quite a few, and integrate them into other vehicles. Right off the top I like: the rear hatch treatment with the big hatch and short tailgate and the mesh at the top of the door map pockets.

could this be a first look at a Equinox SS. Perhaps to get feed back of the public??? Deffinately won;t have that power or wheels or ride that low, but might be some hints here or there of whats to come.

or then again maybe just a shout out for what Pontiac can do and to get the Publics attention of Pontiac

Yeah, I saw it yesterday in Autoweek. If only they would have done the original styling like that.

This was at Woodward in the concept corral. It was actually pretty good looking!

It is an impressive concept. Now kill the production one, and let us never speak of it again.

It's still an Aztek... it's still a refrigerator on wheels...

Nothing can make that design acceptable.

I never thought I'd use the words "cool" and "Aztek" in the same sentence. But that Aztek is pretty damn cool. I like the styling on that a lot. Still not my type of vehicle. I’ve never gotten into SUVs. Its either a truck or car for me. But exactly what guionM said. Less hp and the same general styling for the production model and sales could have sky rocketed. oh well......

Why didn't they just make a 650 HP version of the Silverado or Avalanche instead?

And I don't see what makes that look any better (or worse?) than the actual Aztec? It still has the same ugly exterior...Is it just because its lower that your guys think it looks cooler?

I've seen other pic angles of it and it looks mean.

I think its all the little they've done to the exterior that really help it look alot better..
