Just get it .......it keeps your engine a few degrees cooler just for a couple bucks.

Basically, a lower thermostat will open sooner, causing coolant to flow through the engine block sooner, and making it cooler. Cooler, of course, means denser air intake, meaning more power.

Of course, this is all in theory.

Since the 3.4L is a fairly compact iron block, it heats up fairly quickly for such a small motor. It also makes a lot of heat.

That said, even with the 160 thermo, you'd probably still be running at about 180 degrees on the freeway. More than anything, you'd likely wear out your coolant sooner.
